Not your typical Starbucks for sure.  No Frappuccino here folks.  Its a place to sit and drink your coffee out of a glass cup (it taste so much better than a plastic cup).  We were luckily to experience the Salted Honey cold brew which was a limited time only at the Experience counter.  There are like 4 to 5 different areas inside here and all have their specialty.  They have food and alcohol here as well.

Anyways, back to the drink..so good..one of the best I had.  SO, come here, sit, relax, and slowly drink your coffee and reflect on life.  =)

Was exciting to visit. My friend who just moved to Seattle really hyped it up. It is still a coffee shop. Just a large one, with alcohol too, and different pastries than your chain store, and hot food section, and an almost unisex bathroom.

You won't see  much of the normal sbux menu here. Lots of fancy named drinks and ingredients. Pastries are different. Prices on the high end for a cup of coffee... as expected. But they serve in real mugs!

There was quite a line at the center bar when we got there. It was pretty crowded but there were some seats right at the bar. My gf claimed our seats while I got in line to order. My experience wasn't very smooth. The pastry flavors on the menu didn't match the display case. We decided on custard brioche and a strawberry cornetti. I didn't see strawberry in the display case, there was raspberry instead. When I reached the register I asked for raspberry. The cashier said they didn't have raspberry, but they had blueberry. I was confused, but whatever fine and paid. I went to the pick up counter and after a little bit, they brought me a tray with the two coffees, custard brioche and a hazelnut cornetti. Mind blown. I called the barista back and told her I asked for raspberry and was told only blueberry available... she came back with a raspberry one for me, no issues. So problem resolved easy, but what in the world...

About the food and drinks. I don't drink coffee regularly and went with a mocha. I liked my drink, nice dark chocolate. My gf likes blonde vanilla lattes and got their hazelnut latte. She didn't like hers though. I tried it and yea.. it wasn't amazing. All the pastries were good!

My experience at Starbucks Reserve Roastery was a bit wild and chaotic. The building is large and impressive, but the whole place was completely packed when we were there. There were swarms of people everywhere and no order to any of the crowds. They did have a person at the front near the door, but they got pulled away at some point and I wasn't able to get a good lay of the land. I definitely could have used some direction as there are multiple different counters/bars/lounges. My experience wasn't awesome just due to how crowded it was, but I think a visit earlier in the day (like at 7 am) would be more manageable. They have lots of cool things to check out if you're able to fight the crowds -- premium blends that you can't find anywhere else, cocktails, lots of merchandise, a bakery, food, the actual roasting operation, and a cool clacker board that flips to show what's being roasted, special events that day, etc. The clacker board was probably my favorite part since no one else seemed interested in it!

I would have loved to try a flight, as they offer several different options here, but the lines were chaotic and I couldn't tell where they started and ended. Also, all the seating I saw was occupied, so I'm not sure where we would've been able to enjoy our drinks anyway. We did end up purchasing a couple bags of coffee to take home as well as a mug, but I really couldn't handle more than that when we visited. If you're Starbucks obsessed, give it a shot. If you hate crowds, maybe skip it.

I really wanted to enjoy this experience, but man what a zoo! This place was so packed that it was almost unbearable. Important things to know when visiting:

Parking is awful, it is mostly on-street or in parking lots. We came on on a Sunday morning and there was hardly anything available. We walked about five blocks to get here after parking.

Be prepared to be confused. You walk into this gorgeous building that is well-designed, but the execution was not there. Additionally, I think they underestimated the demand that this Reserve roastery would have as it is tiny. They are building one in Chicago to be four floors and 43,000 square feet. This one is much smaller.

They have one person going through the various bars and what you can order. When we visited, there was probably over 200 people inside. It was cramped. I didn't expect it to not be busy, but it was crazy.
Seating is impossible to find. Be prepared to make a move as soon as someone leaves their spot or ask to share if there are open seats.

There are two "main" coffee bars. One is in the middle and one is down-stairs. There is seating in both of the main coffee bars and they will take your order if you sit down ONLY if they have a bartender available. The main bar DID NOT have a bartender when we sat down and we waited five minutes to ask someone only to find out you need to wait in a 30 person line to get coffee. I opted to go down-stairs, the line only was five or so people. There is also a mixology style coffee bar where they mix cocktails with their coffee. This was less crowded at 10 AM, but I wasn't ready for liquor after the Walla Walla wine tour we went on earlier in the week.

Both mine and my significant orders didn't take that long, thankfully. I was lucky to snag a seat while waiting for my order. I ordered a cold brew flight consisting of four different cold brew pours. My significant other ordered a reserve coffee flight consisting of three eight ounces pours of reserve coffee. Be prepared to empty your wallet not that I am complaining, I knew it would be expensive coming in. The cold brew flight was $15.50 and the 3 reserve coffee pours were $19.

Once we got settled in after about 15 minutes of finding parking, 20 minutes of figuring out how to order, and about 10 minutes of waiting for our coffee orders, the coffee was exquisite. I thoroughly enjoyed my cold brews as I am not a huge fan and I loved the three reserve coffee pours.

Overall, I am hoping the Chicago location is much improved with more seating and more employees working. I enjoyed everything once I had it, but the process was a chore. If you think the original location is busy, this one might beat it. I would go back, but there are definite improvements to be had.

2nd review, at 9pm: this place is like a night club! Omg! Good luck finding a table or one extra seat!

Need an extra star! This place is AH-MAY-ZING! You need to visit here if you are a coffee connoisseur! They sample all types of coffee that they brew right in front of you! The pastries and food is fresh and the art on the lattes are beautiful!

There is a bar area and you can order alcoholic beverages with a coffee twist! The menu is extensive and the baristas are ready and willing to help and make suggestions as well! This place is so awesome, if I lived here, I would be here every single day! Everything is fresh and the flavors are wonderful! The pictures can tell a better story of how amazing this Réserve is! I bought a $30 water bottle!
